A Word from the Artist
I was born and raised in Missouri, and began my life as an artist at an early age. In 1993, I started working in an old garage, combining my interest in art and antiques to create what I called "objects for an imaginary life."
Using antique materials found at flea markets, including old sheet music, tarnished tinsel, vintage crepe paper, Victorian scrap, and German glass glitter, I tried to listen carefully to the sense of poetry that the materials themselves had, and to connect with some lost sense of magic from times past.
In 1997, I moved to a tiny town north of San Francisco and opened up my own shop, "Theatre of Dreams", where I continue to play with my favorite themes of dreams, memory and magic.
My shop in Port Costa, Ca. is open for scheduled open houses, where you can find everything from shadow puppet plays, miniature paper theatres, letter-pressed poetry books, seashell and faux bois, tiny furniture made of antique newspapers, and optical devices of wonder.
I also work closely with Tinsel Trading Company in NYC to create a line of limited edition originals, as well as license to Midwest of Cannon Falls.
